VIDEOCASTS

If you prefer the video format, this column is where you'll find access to our video library.  These are viewed using UStream.tv   We use UStream because of its low cost to us, which allows us to put more services on the Internet.  If you wish to avoid the brief commercials, please enroll in UStream's ad-free service (currently $3.99/month).

Drawn from the rich liturgical history of Christianity of the Eastern and Western Church, our Third Hour office for 9 AM is spiritually uplifting.  Every prayer, reading and response is focused on acknowledgment of the sovereignty of God over all things.  The Sunday videocast version differs from the daily office in that the three Scripture readings, called Chapters, and the Psalm readings are from the morning service Lectionary in the 1928 BCP.  The six daily offices (First, Third, Sixth, Ninth, Vespers & Compline) are contained in Hear Us, O Lord: Daily Offices for the Laity, which is available in print edition or eBook format at our Bookstore (See link below).

Sample of Prayer from Third Hour

GRANT us, O Lord God, the knowledge of thy divine words and fill us with the understanding of Thy holy Gospel and the riches of Thy divine gifts and the indwelling of Thy Holy Spirit; and give us joy to keep Thy commandments and accomplish them and fulfill Thy will; and to be accounted worthy of the blessings and mercies that are from Thee, now and ever and unto ages of ages.
adapted from an Eastern liturgy, c. 5th C.

Watch Third Hour live at 9 AM Eastern using the link on the Home page.  All services are posted as videos about 15 minutes after the end of the service.

As a Sacraments-based Church, we celebrate Holy Eucharist every Sunday.  So that our parishioners and distance members can hear the Old Testament lessons regularly, the St. Chrysostom Edition of the Book of Common Prayer provides for an Old Testament and Psalm reading for every service.  We make it easy for you to follow these services at home by offering an eBook version of our BCP.  For more information, visit the Bookstore page.
